GREENWICH, Conn., June 1, 2025 – A 1932 Duesenberg Model J Disappearing Top Convertible Coupe was chosen as this year’s Best of Show – Concours d’Elegance at the annual Greenwich Concours d’Elegance. The winner at Saturday’s Concours de Sport was a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV. This year’s event further established the weekend’s focus on celebrating car culture and honoring concours tradition while providing new experiences and opportunities for enthusiasts and guests.
“Greenwich Concours continues to establish itself as the premier Concours in the Northeast, beginning with an amazing field of the world’s finest cars,” said Matt Orendac, Concours Events Vice Chairman at Hagerty. “The Duesenberg Model J and the Lamborghini Miura exemplify their respective niches in car culture – the best in both luxury- and sport-focused driving. We are tremendously grateful for the support of our partners, sponsors, volunteers, judges, attendees and entrants who made this year’s event a success.”
1932 Duesenberg Model J Disappearing Top Convertible Coupe – 2025 Best of Show – Concours d’Elegance
The Best of Show Concours d’Elegance was awarded to the 1932 Duesenberg Model J Disappearing Top Convertible Coupe with coachwork by Murphy owned by Tom Maoli. This car was first delivered to Duesenberg’s Los Angeles branch, where it remained unsold for a period before being transferred to the company’s New York concessionaire. There, it was purchased by its first owner, J.W.Y. Martin, a prominent East Coast socialite known for his involvement in equestrian circles. Disappearing Top models were entirely custom-built, a distinction that, combined with their striking design, has made them among the most iconic bodies ever mounted on the Model J chassis.
1972 Lamborghini Miura SV – 2025 Best of Show – Concours de Sport
The Best of Show Concours de Sport was awarded to the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV owned by Lawrence Auriana. The Miura is widely regarded as the world’s first supercar, revolutionizing exotic car design by placing a powerful mid-mounted engine at its core. It featured a 4.0-litre, transverse, quad-cam V-12 positioned just behind the driver. The Miura made its debut as a revolutionary bare chassis at the Turin Motor Show in November 1965, then returned in March 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show dressed in striking Bertone bodywork, designed by Marcello Gandini. More than 760 units were produced, including this example—the final Miura SV delivered to the United States. This SV is finished in Verde Chiaro with blue leather interior and is visually set apart from earlier versions by the absence of the signature headlamp “eyelashes” and inclusion of model-specific wider rear fenders to fit 9-inch-wide Pirelli Cinturato tires and revised taillights.
Saturday’s Concours de Sport and Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance each featured over 125 cars in 18 classes. Notable classes included 100 Years of Chrysler, Porsche Prototypes, Art Deco Streamliners and Pinin Farina.
Esteemed collector Ralph Marano served in the honorary role of Grand Marshal while a slate of expert judges, including a group of 55 youth judges, focused on design, style and elegance while selecting this year’s winners.
